Tag it @ Aud Sentiments

Welcome to the second week of our "Tag it" fortnight challenge at Aud Sentiments. Whatever you make, your sentiment must be printed onto a tag. Please visit the Aud Sentiments blog for more inspiration from our very talented design team.

I used the Tickled Pink Stamp,  Lil Fashionette - 30s Lylah coloring her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils w/OMS. The design paper is from the DCWV Mariposa paper pack. I added some additional texture w/a Cuttlebug embossing folder and distressed it a little with sandpaper. Finally I added bling and punched the tag w/a "whale" punch and stamped with a sentiment from my stash and 1/8" of  "spool 'O ribbon." The butterfly was made with a Martha Stewart punch.

Digi Darlas Challenge #21 - Anything w/ Wheels

It's Monday and you know what that means...another Digi Darla's Challenge. This week the challenge is "Anything w/Wheels." Be sure to stop by the blog to see the wonderful creations by the rest of the design team.

I love the opportunity to make a masculine card and when I saw this image I knew I had to use. The image is called "Antique Truck." I colored it with Prismacolor pencils w/OMS. The base of the card is Kraft cardstock. I love that stuff! I used an oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die-cut and cut the tool box from the Cricut "Father's Day" cartridge. The "steering wheel" is a metal gear from "7 gypsies." I added some Tim Holtz distress ink to the cricut cut as well as around the sentiment. The sentiment is one of my husband's favorites and I couldn't resist using it. Although it's a masculine card I was able to incorporate some bling into it by using it on the headlights. I also used a glitter pen to accent some of the "chrome." The plaid background paper is from the DCWV "Natural" stack. I added brads as a finishing touch. While I seldom incorporate them in my designs, I find that I especially like them on masculine card. My husband gave this card a big "thumbs up." I hope you do too.

Don't forget to stop by Digi Dara's Challenge blog to check out the other design team members creations.

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsorship

This should have been posted yesterday but with either computer or Blogger issues it got overlooked. Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Brown Sugar Challenge this week. This is a fairly new challenge blog that you'll certainly want to participate in. The challenge this week is black and white with a splash of color.

I used Sassy Carrie from Sassy Studio Designs June release. I colored the image with Copics and only added a very faint red to her cheeks. I cut the poodle with my Cricut and the Vacation in Paris cartridge. The background paper is from my stash. The sentiment is from Create w/tlc. The "leash" is from what I call "strand o' pearls" from JoAnn's but is probably available at any craft store. Finally I added the organaza ribbon for one final splash of color. Be sure to stop by the Brown Sugar Challenge to see what their fabulous design team has created.

It's A Small World Sassy Studio Designs Hop

Welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs It's a Small World After All Blog Hop. First I'd like to appologize to everyone for any inconvenience my post not being available has caused. Don't bame me blame Blogger. I'm also thinking I might need a new computer as well. Anybody want to donate? So without further ado...

You should have arrived here from Rebecca's blog. She is such a talented designer and you don't want to miss it. If somehow you didn't start at the beginning, the links below will get you back on track.

Meet USA Honey! With her head full of beautiful and shiny hair, she is styling her red, white and blue, stars and stripes bikini. I colored the image with Copics and Prismacolor pencils w/OMS. I started by embossing the background with the "Spots" Cuttlebug embossing folder. Using small pieces of stars and stripes paper the card went together super fast. Like so many other cardmakers, I used a sketch,  #100 from Mojo Monday. Finally I added the Organza ribbon and viola`. I hope this card was worth waiting for. Be sure to hop on over to Mary's blog. Again I'm sorry for any inconvenience me and my Blogger issues may have caused.

Friends at Aud Sentiments

This is the second week of our fortnight challenge at Aud Sentiments. Our sponsor is Polka Doodles and the challenge is to use the world "friend" in the sentiment.

After printing off three copies of the image I colored the main image with Copics and highlight the center with Sstickles..  On another I colored the ladybug and the bee. Using a cloud template, I inked the cloud background with Close To My Heart ink on to what was to become my main card piece. Then I fussy cut the flower, ladybug and bee. I also added Stickles to the bee's wings. Using foam tape, I popped all the images up over their respective pieces. I used a dp with a grass motif. Finally I stamped the sentiment and cut it using a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is from "KaiserCraft" Friendship Sentiments. DigiDarla Challenge #19 "Noah's Ark" 2 by 2

Before we get started, Congratulations to Renee as the winning commentor from last week's hop. You've won the "Golfin' Gramps" image.

This week Digi Darla is offering the winner chosen by Random.org their choice of 5 images from
Digi Darla Designs so you MUST use a Digi Darla image to qualify!!

This week our theme is "Noah's Ark 2 by 2"
(2 of something on your creation - it does NOT have to be animal theme as long as we see 2 of something on your project)

This image is DD "One parrot said to the other." I colored it with Copics. The eyes are highlighted with black bling. The background embossing is "feathers" from Fiskars and was distressed to add even more dimension. I added real feathers from my stash and a stick pin I made myself. I have tons of sentiments and can't rightly say where this one came from but I thought it fit perfectly. Be sure to stop by DDC to see what the rest of the design team has created.
