Digi Darla "White Delight"

It's Monday and you know what that means...another Digi Darla Challenge! We want to see your white creations with a dash of color and remember you are no longe rlimited to only using a Digi Darla image! Be sure to stop by the blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with.

I chose Dig Darla image "Wedding Couple." I was sort of racking my brain on a mostly white design but once I chose the image my mind went into overdrive. The image was colored w/Copics and cut out using the Spellbinders Nestabilities die "Lacey Squares."  I used a Cuddlebug embossing folder to add some texture. I popped the image up using foam dots and add bling around the entier image. The "Mr and Mrs" is actually a ribbon. Finally I used another Spellbinders die to cut out the sentiment which is a $1 stamp available at most of the "big box" craft store. I am totally impressed with this card.

Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins

Today at Sentimental Sundays the challenge is "Pumpkins." We want to see all of your creations with a pumpkins theme or motif.

This is my first every tri-fold card. Simply cut a 8 1/2 x 11 paper in half to get a sheet measuring 4 1/4 x 11. Using my Score-Pal I scored the paper at 3 5/8 on each end. It was that easy. The image is from Scrapbook Fairy and is called "Nellie's Pumpkin." The image is one of the prizes I won in the Link Up For Pink Linking Party. I colored the image with Copics and added Stickles and Gelly Roll pen highlights. The spider web edge punch is from Martha Stewart as well as the pumpkin design paper on the inside. The other papers are from my stash. Both sentiments are from Create w/tlc and the inside is cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities. Be sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays blog to enter your won creation and to see what the rest of the design team has created.

Digi Darla Challenge 10/22/2012

This week at Digi Darla Challenges the challenge is "Halloween!" With the best candy day of the year looming in the distance, it shouldn't surprise you but there's more. Now at DDC you can enter using any digi but you'll receive a second entry for using a Digi Darla image. How cool is that?

I created this super cut treat box using Digi Darla image "Halloween Boy and Spider and Jack-o'-Lantern."

I colored the images with Copics. The bg papers are from my stash. I added bling for the buttons on his vest and for the spider in the sentiment. The "R.I.P" headstone is from the $1 bin at JoAnns. I wet embossed it and thought it would help complete the Halloween scene. The treatbox is filled with Smarties candies. Be sure to stop by DDC to see what the rest of the super-talented design team has created and too enter your own creation.

Thirty-one and done

I made it, I made it, I made it! Thirty-one projects in 14 days!

This last project is a center step card. Using three different KennyK images, I colored them with Copics. I used glitter, bling and pearls to add to the images. Using papers from my stash I covered the card and added a sentiment I printed from my computer. Of course I added this to the Link Up For Pink with only one minute to spare!

Here's another quick bookmark.

The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and is colored w/Copics. The paper is from a BCA awareness a friend gave me. The glittery ribbon is from a Provo Craft die. I made the sentiment on my computer and added the organza ribbon at the top. I'll be entering this in the Link Up For Pink Linking Party. Only two more project to go!

Twenty-eight and counting

The two-week crafting marathon is almost over. I've had a wonderful time and have discovered creativity I didn't even know I possessed. Thirty one cards is fourteen days is quite a loft goal. If you're thinking it was easy, think again. Sure 31 identical cards would not be so hard to make. Time-consuming yes, but hard, no. Creating 31 totally different cards/projects is work. It's almost a full-time job. Trying each morning to come up with something totally different really makes you dig done in your creative bag of tricks and "make it work." It's a journey I've enjoyed and I've also enjoyed reading about other survivor's journey as well.

On another not I received a call from my oncologist's office on Friday. My oncologist is one of the foremost authorities on breast cancer surgery. Their office was contacted by a local television station that is doing a piece on survivors. They wanted to be put in contact with a survivor who was positive and upbeat during and after treatment. I was told I was their absolute first and only choice! Woo Hoo! So on Wednesday morning at 5:30 am I'm be making my television debut. I'm so excited. I have every intention of mentioning Link Up For Pink and the women on the internet that participate. I think it's a wonderful way to bring even more attention to the importance of taking care of our breast health. Wish me luck.

The image was a freebie from Saturated Canary. It was colored w/Copics and cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die. The papers are small bits from my stash. I've added bling, organza ribbon, and a sentiment printed on my computer to finish it all off.

Number Twenty-seven

For project #27 I decided to try a luminary. I was at a local Dollar Tree and found these little LED tea lights.

I cut a piece of vellum and formed it into a circle. Using my Cricut with the Lyrical Letters cartridge and Gypsy, I spelled out "Survivor" and used the "weld" feature to connect all the letters. All that was left was to decorate it with scraps of paper, flowers and bling.

I tried coloring the bulb with a Copic marker so it would cast a pink glow but it didn't work. My husband says that it's still cute and that we should use it for a night light in the bathroom.

This is what it looks like without the tea light. I'll be adding this to Link Up For Pink also.

Another treat box

Here I am with Project #26. It's another treat box but this one wasn't cut with the Cricut. It's called a "flat back treat box." You can "Google for instructions."

I used leftover scraps of paper to decoratoe the box and the flat background. The image is from Sassy Studio Designs. The sparkley ribbon was cut with a ProvoCraft die. The roses and leaves were created with the Close To My Heart Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, A also added pink pearls and the sentiment was from the net. BTW the box has three Lindor chocolates inside. Remember tomorrow at midnight is your last chance to upload to Link Up For Pink...don't miss out.

Project #25

Since this is project #25 and probably the last one I will post today, I need to enter three projects both tomorrow and Sunday to reach my goal! So without further ado...

it's a pillow box. Cut with the Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste Cartridge. I used a 12 x 12 sheet and chose "fit to page." Figuring out how to score the curved edges, I wound up pinching them over my index finger. I was originally designing a card when I chanced to put it on the pillow box and I like it! Both the dress and the sentiment were also cut with the same cartridge. The roses and leaves were cut with the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cartridge. I made the stick pin myself. The ribbon, and papers are from my stash. Distress ink was added to the edge of the dress and it was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut it with a Spellbinders Nestabilities pennant die-cut. Of course I'll be adding this to Link Up For Pink. After today, only two days left to enter.

Link Up For Pink

There are four days left to get in on the Link Up For Pink Linking Party. For me that means I only need nine more projects to meet my personal goal of creating 31 projects. I'm glad I set this goal for myself. As a survivor myself, I want to do something to encourage someone that might be going through the disease. Believe me something as simple as a card can go a long way.

On the other hand making suft a lofty goal for myself has made me dig deep into my creative bag of tricks. It's also made me did into my crafting pantry and dig out some stuff I haven't used, don't use enough or need to get better at using. This card is representing all three!

I have an entire set of the Sew Piercing heads but this is the first time I've used one. While I like the texture of the stitches, I'm a sewer and don't know how much I'll actually use it! I super proud of myself that I used the Cricut again for the sentiment and the oval cut. The papers are from my stash. Not only did I add the bling outline but I also incorporated pink pearls as the center of two of the flowers. It's rare I make cards without digis but this let's me know I don't always have to use them. Thanks for stopping and remember to Link Up For Pink!

Another Treat Box - BCA #21

I'm still working toward my goal. Only 10 more projects to finish and post. I'm still having a ball with the new Close To My Heart Cricut Artiste cartridge. This time I used Starlight mints inside.

I decorated the front and the back of this lunch bag style cut. The glittery pink ribbon is also cut with the Cricut. The roses are from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. The branches and butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punches. Finally the bling is from my stash.
